What is Neighbourhood Policing?

Neighbourhood Policing is the police service’s commitment to improving your quality of life by working with partners to target the issues identified as mattering most to you.

Neighbourhood policing is about confidence; confidence that the police are working closely with their partners and communities to understand the issues that matter to people, and are dealing with them. Confidence in policing is essential. It provides the legitimacy and community support needed to act in preventing crime and bringing offenders to justice.

Where does this fit in with us?

The Neighbourhood Policing Team attend our three local Resident's Association meetings for Morfa, New Dock and Seaside; and also attend the Glanmor Neighbourhood Watch meetings.

How does this help?

All our community issues and concerns are discussed with the Police during these meetings and are then brought forward in the Safer Commnuities Action Group (SCAG) meeting and 3 priorites for the month are established. These priorities then become the main focus of the Neighbourhood Policing Team for that coming month.
